An integral part of the Berlin underground scene, Kaos has been producing his twisted dance hybrids since the early 90s when he was knocking out downtempo 12s as Terranova.

His next album will be released on the DFA/Rong imprint - with the first single released off that album described as “a disco rock hybrid reminiscent of a Danielle Baldeli Cosmic [with] an ‘I Feel love style disco acid bass line”.

Modular & Bang Gang 12”s presents BAG RAIDERS SHOOTING STARS SINGLE RELEASE PARTY

Fri, August 21, 2009

Doors 10pm, $20 + Bf

Following months of courting, waking up in the middle of the night in cold sweats, and idle chit chat, Modular is very proud to announce that Sydney duo Bag Raiders are now a part of the Modular premiere league.

Bag Raiders new single, Shooting Stars is the first release in Modular’s new collaboration with The Bang Gang Deejays in-house label, Bang Gang 12 Inches, and will be out August 14.

Jack Glass and Chris Stracey have signed their lives away in return for a novelty cheque and a sack of peanuts and now begin their climb up the ladder of enlightenment through electronics. Shooting Stars will be their first release on their newfound home, with an album to follow in early 2010.

Shooting Stars is the kind of blissful dancefloor epiphany usually associated with the French, an ecstatic track that teases and builds to the kind of hands in the air love-in that’s been the certified secret weapon of discerning DJ’s for some months, and it’s now time for the rest of us to join the throng.

The single comes correct with remixes by Kris Menace, Siriusmo, In Flagranti and Shazam, and a video directed by New York upstart Ron Winter.

Bag Raiders came to light through their Bag Raiders EP, released on Bang Gang 12 Inches in 2007. Last year saw them release the Turbo Love 12” on Bang Gang before now coming aboard the good ship Modular, where they’ll now sail into the sunset and beyond to prospective world dancefloor domination.

To support this new signing and the launch of Bag Raider’s first single on Modular, Bag Raiders are embarking on a national Shooting Stars tour. The Tour is presented by Modular Records and Bang Gang 12 Inches, the Melbourne party also featuring AJAX.
